Christi has a always had a passion for party planning. After working with a wedding coordinator for her own wedding, and loving every minute of it, she decided to go and work for the same event planning company, called Belle of the Ball. She worked there for a few years and decided to retire after her first son was born. She started P is for Party in May of 2009 as a creative outlet outside of her duties as a SAHM. Since then she has been hired to plan some phenomenal parties as well as throw some personal parties that are absolutely fabulous (see here).

Anytime Christi writes about fashion on her family blog, I feel like she is in my head. I love her taste and her boys are always decked out in the cutest preppy getups. Christi has an impeccable eye, and it was fun to read the insight into her personal style.
What is your daily "uniform"?
I have several daily "uniforms". I workout on most days, so I typically start the day wearing a pair of Lululemon Wunder Groove crop pants along with their Scoop Neck tank and a light jacket. On the days I'm not hitting the gym, or if I'm lucky enough to grab a shower during the day, I'll put on a pair of skinny jeans and tall boots (during the fall) or flats paired with some kind of fun, somewhat "in the now" top and jewelry.
For a night out on the town...kid free, what would be your favorite outfit?
We try to have a date night once a week which consists of dinner and a movie. Boring, I know, but it's such a peaceful break! For these nights, I still go to my skinny jeans, tall boots and a nice top or fitted jacket. If I'm feeling adventurous, I'll wear a pair of chunky heels. I love to dress up though and love when a dressier opportunity arises!
Your top 3 places to shop for yourself
Neiman Marcus - I hope I don't sound like a snob! It's just that it is a one stop shop for all of the labels I love to splurge on.
Various boutiques in Houston - SoHo is a fave!
Target
Your top 3 places to shop for your kids
My husband and credit card thank me for not having girls, but oh how I wish I could buy all of the cute girly things out there! I have two boys, so I am limited.
For basics - Old Navy, Gap and Nordstrom
Trunk shows - Castles & Crowns and Shrimp & Grits are two of my favorites!
I also really like Crew Cuts and Mini Boden
That's more than 3, woops!
What one item would you like to splurge on this season?
I would love to get my hands on the Prada Napa Gaufre Expandable Tote!
What is your favorite bargain item?
Anything from Target! I could spend hours in that store. Right now, I am obsessed with a pair of black Mossimo jeggings that I can' stop wearing. I wear them with my Steve Madden black over the knew boots for a comfortable, but stylish look.
What are the things you can't leave your house without?
My iphone and lipgloss...and kids!
What are your favorite beauty items?
I wash my face with a gentle cleanser by A-cute Derm Pro-C Antioxidant Cleansing Gel and I swear by Ilona Buoyancy night treatment.
If you were referring to makeup, than I love anything by Chanel and Laura Mercier. My staple lipgloss is Spark by Chanel and Orgasm blush by Nars. I always blush when I have to restock that last item, ha!
If you could raid the closet of one celebrity, who would it be?
This is a tough one! My style changes on a daily basis, so there are a handful of celebrities whose styles I admire. I like the styles of Rachel Bilson, Blake Lively (on screen and off!), Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Anniston when it comes to formal attire.
What is one clothing/accessory that you love the most and will never part with?
I have a handful of answers for this one! I don't think I could ever part with items that I splurged (the guilt factor!) or on unique pieces I have picked up over the years. For example, I have a lot of fun tops and dresses from What Comes Around Goes Around in New York which I bought while living in the city and before it became a celebrity spotting boutique. I have reworked Lacoste shirts and vintage t-shirts made into dresses from there that I love...but never wear anymore. But they represent a fun time in my life and I am sentimental and can't let go!
