Modern Lola: Fab Finds

Lately I haven't had the time to online shop, so I was kind of excited to cozy up by the fire and play on my computer for a while (the hubs is watching HS State football championship...boring!!!!)

I spent some time on one of my favorite sites, Modern Lola. This site is jam packed with the CUTEST things! I was going to try to narrow down this post, but I decided to just post everything I liked. So, here goes...

This baby bag by Timi and Leslie makes hauling diapers and wipes a bit more chic. It's faux (PVC free) leather and the inside compartments are fantastic! $149

If you are a neat freak, like me, this backseat organizer is perfect! $42

These storage bins are too fun! They are 17" high, which is perfect for storing toys, books or laundry

I can't even handle these Kimonos!!! What a fun baby gift! $40

For Gigi...

Is it possible it is Wednesday already?!!!! My parents arrive today and I am also busy planning a "sprinkle" shower for my dear friend Gigi. If you haven't heard of a sprinkle, it's a smaller version of a shower for anyone having a 2nd or 3rd baby. No registry required, just a way to celebrate a new baby on the way and to "sprinkle" the new mama with some things for her little one! Pictures to come next week...

In the meantime, I can't help but think about Gigi's little girl. If you follow her blog, you know that she is a bit bohemian, rockstar and girly all rolled up into one. There is one thing I know for sure, this little lady will not be lacking in stylish getups. I believe she already has multiple pairs of shoes and she isn't even born yet!!!!

Here are some items that I think that Gigi might enjoy...who knew that black and white could be so cute in infant sizes?! All items courtesy of Poppy's Closet

love this alternative to a big hair bow...

It's just beachy

We have all been there...you pull your kid out of the pool and you are chasing them around to dry them off. Oh and don't even think about trying to change them into dry clothes. MELTDOWN! May all your problems be solved with this precious terry cloth poncho.

Just whip it over their head, and let it do the work for you! I also love the cozy hood to keep their heads warm on days when it's not so steamy or even to protect them from the sun. AND, they are made of super soft, 100% Organic Terry cloth. I think the idea is just wonderful, don't you?! By The Trendy Tot on Etsy

Red, White and Cute!

I really can't believe that the 4th of July is next Sunday! Does anyone else feel like this summer is just flying by? I really love the 4th, it's a fun, laid back holiday that usually involves the pool, lots of great food and a summery cocktail.

When it comes to the kiddos, I think it is really cute to deck them out in some patriotic fashion. I am not a huge fan of flag tees...it's just not my thing. But, give me seersucker or red and white stripes any day. I found some DARLING items on Etsy that I am so excited to share with you. If you like them hurry up and order! Most of these vendors will quit taking 4th of July orders this week.

is this not the cutest thing you have ever seen? Love the collar detail and who doesn't love a monogram? $42 by The Laughing Giraffe

We had a Jon Jon like this for Julian and got so much use out of it! $36.99 by Buds N Branches

Plastic is Fantastic

Over the past few years Designer Vivienne Westwood has been teaming up with Brazilian shoe brand Melissa to design some very amazing plastic shoes. Yes, I said plastic. It is kind of hard to believe, they are really beautiful and interesting.

So, the best part is that THIS season, they are doing a mini version (minus the heel) of the shoe pictured above. So now, your trendy tot can be sporting these beauties too. The icing on the cake? They smell like bubble gum. Can you even stand it?

American Style.

I grew up watching Shirley Temple movies. I was completely enthralled with that little curly haired sweetheart who completely stole the big screen. She was always dressed in these adorable little dresses with ruffles and a petticoat. I wondered why didn't my mom buy me dresses like that? At that time I was wearing neon biker shorts and a huge tee shirt with puffy paint all over it. Ha!

Blu Pony Vintage is bringing that amazing, all-american style from the 1920's back. How wonderful is that? All of the garments will be produced with the high quality standards that clothing used to be made. No synthetic fabrics or plastic buttons. These are timeless items that your children can wear for ages, and eventually pass down to their children.

Stringbean Co is one of the first stores to be carrying the line. I am so excited to be one of the first to share it with you all! It is now available online for purchase...here are some of the great styles Stringbean is carrying...

seriously, how precious is this dress? Alice Dress, available in Sky Blue

due to the sheerness of the dress, should be layered with the Clara B. slip

And for the boys...

These old fashioned coveralls are so stinking cute (I would pair them with some chuck Taylors!)

Wouldn't these items make for a beautiful family photo op? I can't wait to see what Blu Pony will be doing for Fall 2010!

What a novel idea!

Car Seat cover by Chubby Baby, $75

I saw a girl with one of these yesterday and I had to stop her and ask where she got them. Of course she found it on Etsy! I absolutely love this idea of a custom infant car seat cover. I think they are great when baby #2 comes along and your car seat may be a little worse for wear from the first child. This will make the car seat look brand new, and it can be removed and washed over and over! Not to mention, you can customize it based on the sex of the baby.

Out of all the vendors on Etsy, the ones by Chubby Baby were my favorite.

Mini Prep

Even though I love up to date fashion, there is just something to be said about the all american look of Ralph Lauren. Their kid stuff is so cute, and so classic. If I had a little girl, she would probably be decked out in something like this. Oh and accessorized with Mel-Belles bows, of course!
