The best hostess gift...
When my friend Heather from Minnesota came to visit a few weeks ago, she brought me the BEST hostess gift. Let me tell you, this girl knows me too well. She brought me a bow belt from Nelle (remember this clutch post?)
and my new fave nail color OPI's You Don't Know Jacques (thanks to Jessie for the recommendation)
Kelly Green is one of my favorite colors, and I also love the black and navy combo. I have already worn this belt multiple times. The grosgrain sash is really long, this time I wrapped it around and tied it in the back. But it also looks cute tied in the front in a bow. I think it dresses up a plain black outfit quite nicely, don't you?
my little model, that always wants to be in the pictures too...

Tiny Keeper
My new job has me running around Kansas City meeting with shop owners and retailers that I will be writing about on my Kansascity.com Shopping Blog. I would love to invest in a small leather business card holder for my handbag to keep everything organized and in one place. I am finding that these cards are taking up quite a bit of space in my wallet! Here are a few that I think would fit quite nicely in my handbag...
this is more like a wallet, but I LOOOVE it $300 by Gucci

Beauty from Belgium
Sebastian, Shane my brother, Dad in Cologne Germany
My Dad and Brother just took a "guys trip" to Europe. Yes, this trip did not include my mom or myself (do you feel bad for us? I do!) but rather racing cars, soccer and beer. But my brother was nice enough to think of his little sister and pick up a great souvenir.
They were stuck in Europe 3 extra days because of the Volcano. If this had not happened, they would never have gone to Brussels and found me this AAAAAMAZING scarf! It is huge, and a very thin cotton voile. Big enough to wear wrapped around my waist as a sarong and thin enough to roll up and wear around my neck. I absolutely LOVE it! Thank you Shaner, you did GOOD!

I "heart" all of it!
The ladies over at Old Soul, New Heart just debuted their spring collection. Oooooooh, it is SO CUTE! Every little piece has wonderful detail, and you can just tell that so much thought is put into their collection. Their hair accessories would have to be my favorite. I have always been a sucker for headbands...
in the summer, I love to do a low bun...these would be perfect pinned in the back!
And if the Easter Bunny wants to slip these into my basket, I wouldn't object...

Charming and Pretty just about sums it up...
When I was on one of my favorite blogs (Coco + Kelly), I stumbled across the most darling accessories websites I have seen in a LONG time. Let me introduce to you, Old Soul, New Heart.
The designers Tamara and She are a mother and daughter duo that know just exactly how to take ruffles, bows and a little bit of sparkle and combine them into the perfect accessories. When I went to their bio, I knew they were girls after my own heart. Tamara taught her daughter Shea that, "accessories never make you look fat" SO TRUE! You may go up and down in sizes, but your jewelry case will be with you forever!
If you are in need of just a little sparkle for a holiday party, or something fun for new years, look no further! I love everything on their site, but these are just a few of my favorites...oh and designer/owner Shea is the model. Isn't she darling? I fell in love with her red lipstick and emailed them. They responded right away, it is NARS Jungle Red (just in case you wanted to know too!)

Wrap me up and tie me with a bow...
I guess since I started making hair bows I kind of have this obsession with them. Especially the really dainty kind, in the form of 14K gold, to wrap around my neck or finger...It just so happens that this season "bow" jewelry is kind of the hot thing. Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl has been known to sport multiple pieces by Rachel Leigh ( a favorite designer of mine). Here are just a few of my favorites that I wouldn't mind finding in my stocking this Christmas (hint-hint)

Bring on the SNOOD...
I can't EVEN believe I am thinking about scarves and hats...it's too soon! I just put away my sandals! Regardless, the reality is that Fall is here and it's cold. It's even snowing in Minnesota already. So, I am sure you are wondering, what in the world is a "snood"? It's an ingenious combination of a scarf & hood!
I used to walk to work in Chicago, about 20 minutes each way. I would freeze trying to keep my scarf wrapped tight enough and keep the hat on my head. I really wish I would have had a SNOOD to keep my head, neck and ears warm and cozy. Also, it eliminates having to have 2 different cold weather accessories!
There are a couple of versions that I have seen out there. One is like an "infinity" scarf that can wrap multiple times around your neck and then drape over your head. The other version is a hat with really long ties that you can wrap around your neck. I love both and can't wait to sport one this winter!

Don't Sweat It!
One of the most annoying things when you are working out is if your hair is in your face while you are sweating. It's hard enough to get through 30 minutes on the stair-stepper or a cardio kick box class, let alone if you are constantly wiping the sweat or hair out of your eyes! I have the perfect (stylish) solution for you! Sweaty Bands!
The creator of this line is a mother of 3 and a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. She started making the headbands to be able to buy more music for her classes and to further her education. I love her story and I love her product! They are $15 on Steelballet.com
My favorite sport boutique in Kansas City, Steel Ballet, now carries this amazing line of headbands. They are fabric on the top with elastic that runs underneath. This eliminates the head-splitting pinching that you sometimes get from other headbands. The thing that I love the best is that the top is lined with a strip of velvet that prevents the band from slipping while you are excercising or playing a sport. I wore one for an entire day and I was amazed that it didn't slip and that I could wear it all day long without wanting to rip it off my head!!!!
