It's a love/hate relationship.

Since I wrote about Tracy Anderson a few months ago, I had a big response from my readers. Many of you actually went out and purchased the DVD's. I am really dying to know what you all thought. Do you love it? Hate it? Totally addicted to it like me?!

Well, after doing the same Mat routine for 3 months straight, I am getting kind of bored with it. I also wanted a more challenging Ab routine. My friend Jill was kind enough to lend me Tracy's Post Pregnancy DVD. I am thinking...no problem, I have been working out, this won't be that hard. Ummmmmm, yeah right. I was dying halfway through the workout. I was thinking to myself, how in the world would a woman who just had a baby be able to get through this?

The upside to all of this is that it is a FABULOUS workout. I wish I would have done it right after my son was born, instead of a year and a half later. It is about 20 minutes abs, 15 minutes legs, and about 10 minutes of arms (it's not a very good arm routine).  The ab section is very difficult, and I am a girl that loves sit-ups. She gives you options though, if what she is doing is too hard. You can work your way up to the difficulty level that is comfortable for you. The leg routine will make you angry, you will want to curse at Tracy. But, it gives you that good (bad?) burn that makes you know you are working something out.

I find that I absolutely hate doing this video, but it's hard not to love the results. Tracy isn't messing around, she knows what she is doing...

I would love to know what you all think...anyone else doing the post prego video?

  3. I am still trying to do the first video, but I'm bored with it already. I don't think I did it enough to see any results. I'm finding it hard to carve out an hour a day. I may move to P90X..I'll let you know! Michelle

  4. I've been trying to find a workout DVD that I will actually like and notice the difference from. It sounds like her DVD's are great, I'll definitely give them a try.

  5. So, I have been doing the Mat video 3 times a week for almost 2 months and I have noticed a great change in my arms and legs, but boredom...yes! Listening to my ipod helped (thanks Mel) and the workout still burns, but my arse appears to be looking bigger! hmmm. Anyone else have that? Maybe it is lifted or just Easter candy :)
I need another Tracy mat video, but have not had any kids, so would feel funny ordering post-pregnancy.
Oh, and I have tried the cardio numerous times but just don't have the patience to learn all of those routines. Thanks for the recommendation though Mel! Tracy rocks!

  6. Dear Melanie
I think you might have made a mistake in the second paragraph-You wrote "I'm a girl that LOVES sit-ups"
    Surely, that can't be right?!!

  8. I got this dvd two months after I had my second child (2 babies in 2 years = not so good tummy), via c-section, b/c a friend suggested it. About a month later you wrote about how much you were loving the mat routine and it inspired to actually get it out and start doing it. I'm so glad to hear you say that you think it is challenging, because when I started doing it was intense, to say the least. To be honest, I definitely cursed at Tracy while doing the leg exercises and the ab routine was brutal at first. I was doing it religiously for a few weeks and felt like I was really doing my body some good and then I got sick and have totally gotten out of my routine. I must get my act together!!! I really like the dvd though and plan on graduating to the mat routine someday. Thanks for inspiring me : )

  10. Just had a baby 8 weeks ago and started doing this last week..man, was I sore and my abs felt like mush, or what was left of them. The ab routine is great and you can modify some of the moves, the leg routine is great too, she definitely has some new moves that I haven't seen before. Too soon to see results, I definitely will not have time to do it 4 to 6 times a weeks like she suggests, I am aiming for 3! Good luck ladies...will report back in a few months with results.
