yearning for some pink...

I can't deny that if we have another child, I would love to be blessed with a girl. We have a son, so it would be nice to round out our family with a little lady. I mean, we all need a shopping partner for life, right?!

Also, everyone I know is pregnant right now, and most of them are having girls. I can't help but ponder what I would do with a little girls nursery. I feel as though the options are endless. I already have a color scheme in mind (should we have a girl) and Little Crown Interiors (contributors on project nursery) happened to do a nursery in these colors!

I am thinking a very soft almost peachy pink...like the shade of a ballet slipper. And then contrast it with a hot pink, and possibly orange as well.  I think that using some round chinese lanterns for lighting would be a fun addition, and I would love to shop antique to find some decorative pieces. I would probably do a more eclectic room, and less shabby chic than what is pictured here. But I do love all of the elements in this nursery, it is gorgeous.

This chic room was featured on Project Nursery. It caught my eye immediately, because I love the idea of using blue in a girls nursery. The shades of blue in this room are just what I had in mind. I also favor the warm brown paint in contrast with the colorful window treatments. This room is chic without looking too grown up.

This room was also featured on Project Nursery. I think what I love about it is that it is so clean. The artwork is fantastic, and again they used that almost peachy pink that I seem to be drawn to these days. The chandelier brings a soft, girly feel to the room in contrast to the modern furniture.

Yellow has always been a very favorite color of mine. This little girls room is anything but conventional, and I love it. The bedding is absolutely darling, and the use of vintage plates as artwork is such a cute idea! Go to Project Nursery to see other pics of this room, they have more images that include a great rug and Elephant wicker basket that so reminds me of my childhood!

as you can see, I have many "ideas". Maybe someday...until then I will just live vicariously through Gigi who has a little girl coming in August. We can't wait to meet her!

  1. Fab- I hope your #2 is a girl too! Its been a blast with Stella. I didn't expect that a 2.5 year old could be so opinionated on what she wants to wear- its fun to see her style emerge.
