My latest venture...

O.K., so I am a little crafty...I am not afraid to admit it! I love Hobby Lobby, and I have quite a collection of glue guns. This craft obsession has now turned into a business venture. Let me introduce to you Mel-Belles!

Mel-Belles is A collection of hand-made hair bows for babies and girls. This line was inspired by my 6 gorgeous nieces, and a void of unique ribbon bows in stores. This line has been nothing but fun for me and I hope to share my craftiness with the world in the form of darling hair bows.

I have a line for Fall 09, and I do custom!!!

Boy Costumes...get creative!

I did a post on girl costumes earlier this week, so now it's time to talk about the boys!!! You have your typical pirate, dracula and super-hero costumes...but, if you want to be a bit more original, here are some fun ideas!

Yo Gabba Gabba totally creeps my husband out, but I think it's hilarious. And, our son loves it...wouldn't it be hilarious to deck him out like D.J. Lance?!
12 Month up to 5T

Or, you can dress your child up like one of the "My name is...and I like to dance..." kids with one of the character tees!
I may live in Kansas, but I am still rooting for the Bears...

Love these Gryffindor costumes for Girls or Boys...
This Clone Trooper costume is AMAZING!

Halloween costumes that are Tu-Tu cute!

Oh yes, it's that time of year again. You stress for months about your child's halloween costume...and your kids change their minds a million times. I know, I have twin nieces that are OBSESSED with Halloween. They have already been talking about it, 3 months in advance!!! I spent some quality time on Etsy today scouting out some great little girl costumes. They are not only better priced than a store bought costume, but they are also much better made. You could go nuts on this site, there were so many cute ones!

If I had a baby girl, I would do this onesie with these PRECIOUS bloomers...

available in 0-4T

0-18 Months also in Toddler size Tee Shirts

THERE IS NOTHING SWEETER THAN A TU-TU...

What a steal for this entire costume!!!!

I LIVE IN KANSAS, I HAD TO THROW THIS IN THERE...

AND, IF YOU JUST WANT SOMETHING FESTIVE...

available in baby, toddler or girl

Cute and Cuddly

For all the ladies having babies in the next few months...here are some darling finds on one of my favorites sites Honeys and Heroes.  There is nothing better than a super soft onesie when your babies are itty bitty!

Where have I been?

Ok, so I was recently browsing Rachel Zoe's picks on Piperlime and I came across Elizabeth and James shoes! You know how I love the Olsen Twins, and I love the Elizabeth and James clothing line...the shoes are just as fabulous.

MK & A have a serious shoe fetish, and they are bringing their high-style to their shoe line as well. These babies aren't cheap, mostly around $350 plus. But, they are half the price of a pair of Louboutin's.A steal, right?!

I found the best selection of the line on shopbop.com...here are some of my faves:

Lola open toe ruffle pumps $360
High Heeled Suede Booties $395
June zipper flats $275

Borrowed from the Boys...

I am suddenly feeling the need to raid my husbands closet! J.Crew's Sep 09 catalog styled some of their looks using these fabulous oversize gingham men's shirts. The look is clean, but interesting. They also paired a lot of their looks with a very Audrey Hepburn style Minnie pant-that is slim and hits right at the ankle. I love it...so simple, but feminine. The perfect silhouette to highlight a great pair of shoes for fall!!! After all the 80's embellished looks I saw in New York, I have to say these looks are very refreshing. Right up my alley...

I am no Kelly Wearstler...but...

My friend Kelly over at The Party Dress ( who is also a contributor to Project Nursery) informed me that our son Julian's Nursery was featured on the project nursery blog yesterday!!! How fun, and what an honor to be picked. Doing Julian's nursery was SO much fun. With the help of my mom, who is a master DIY'er, we transformed a previously empty space into a bright and cheerful nursery. Thanks mom for striping the walls...I don't think I would have had the patience!!!

Project Nursery is a site dedicated to putting together your baby's room and beyond.. Mom's can submit their "real" rooms to be chosen by the editors to be featured on the site. It is the perfect place to get inspiration for your next Nursery. They also categorize the rooms by style. They have them broken up by traditional, contemporary, designer and the look 4-less. This site was not around when I was doing Julian's Nursery, but I wish it would have been. You will be amazed and inspired by all of the great ideas.

Some of the other Project Nursery features I love are their inspiration boards for customers by Little Apple Designs. You send them a picture of your space and what you are looking for, and they will send you back a customized board complete with furniture, paint, fabric, etc. with links to the items for purchase. amazing!!!

Project Nursery has also added a party planning section, complete with great tips for planning a baby shower or your next one's fabulous Birthday bash.

It's the perfect place to get your creative juices flowing!!!
