We are in the midst of planning out our son's big boy room. Yes, he's over 3 and still in his crib...but you know what? He still naps and I am taking advantage of this as long as I can! I know once he gets in the big bed, he will crawl right out of it.
I digress. So, we are getting together the room decor which I am trying to keep as non-juvenile as possible. I just want a room that doesn't scream "truck" or "dinosaurs", but yet still make it fun for him. I probably won't share too much until the finished product, but I am having a pillow dilemma. What I really want is this...
The coveted letter pillow by Jonathan Adler. I love how bold and graphic they are, but $110 for one pillow isn't really in the budget.
So, I came across these bamboo felt pillows on Etsy by Studio Design Lab and I kind of love them. They start at $39 for a 12x16 and go up to $54 for a 20x20. Also, you can custom match the colors according to your room decor. Pretty adorable, right?
I am thinking these are a much more budget friendly purchase and are equally as cute. What do you think?

For a Boy and a Girl
My friend was looking for inspiration for her twins (one boy, one girl) bedroom. Eventually they will be moving them out of their cribs into big kid beds, so she was trying to come up with a theme for the room that would accommodate both children. I have to say, it's not an easy task!
My suggestion was to go neutral or soft blue on the walls which ties in great with pinks, greens and yellow.
Of all the images on Pinterest, my favorite is this grey, green and blue room. It's still juvenile enough for little ones, but would transition nicely as the kids get bigger.

A chic retreat
Julian turned 2 and the thought of moving to a big boy room is kind of on my mind. We are about a year from doing this, but I can't help thinking about it and what I might do with the space. Thankfully Erica from Moth Design now has a blog dedicated to children's rooms called Little Moth. Oh and let me tell you, everything she posts is GORGEOUS! I love the unique feel of each space and the fact that they don't look so juvenile. I would love to do something more sophisticated, a room he can grow with. She also posts some amazing nurseries as well, if you are looking for inspiration for a baby room.
Here are just a few pictures that she has posted...
