Thank You Bar Method!!!

Top: J.Crew (similar HERE)
Jeans: Mossimo at Target
Shoes: Harolds (OLD!)

I cannot tell you how happy I am to not be wearing anything elastic waist or full-paneled. Bye-bye maternity clothes, hello new spring wardrobe!

At 5 weeks post partum, I am back in my regular clothes with only 3 pounds to go. I am shocked, honestly...this is not normal, right? With my son it took me a very long time to get my body back. With my first pregnancy I gained almost 40 pounds and it probably took a year to feel normal again.

Getting back into my skinny jeans is no miracle; I have to give credit where credit is due. The Bar Method is THE miracle worker.  I started taking the classes before I got pregnant and then 3-4 days a week throughout my entire pregnancy. I even happened to take class the day before I went into labor!

When you are pregnant, it is definitely hard to stay motivated to workout. There were days I had to force myself to go, because I was either too nauseous or just plain tired. But once I got to class everything changed...I felt rejuvenated, strong and so relaxed afterwards. The stretching part of the workout did wonders for my body. It felt so good to stretch my muscles that are working overtime while pregnant.  I never had the bad aches and pains of pregnancy either, which I really attribute to the Bar classes as well.

To celebrate losing the weight, I got a few fun things for Spring. One of the items being the red skinny jeans (shown above) from Target. They are a phenomenal fit for only $24.99. They are Mossimo Fit 4 and they come in Red, Mint Green, Peach and Turquoise. I stalked 4 Targets to get the mint green and I finally found them!

And another great Target find...Dolce Vita knock-offs! Only $14.99 and they come in neon Pink, Black and Turqoise. A total steal!

  1. You look fabulous! And congratulations to you and your beautiful family!

Our baby girl was born about a week or so after yours and I just put on my first pair of post baby colored skinny jeans the other day, too. What an awesome feeling to be out of maternity clothes!

  3. Of course I think you look great! I think the Bar helped keep the weight gain to a mimimum too, which of course made you have less to lose. I gained 40+ with Henry too and it was not pretty. Hope to see you in class again soon!!

  8. You look phenomenal!!! Doesn't it feel so amazing to be back in fun clothes?! I did the same thing as you and bought two cute pairs of skinny colored jeans from J.Crew! The Target jeans and shoes you found are awesome. I love that the shoes look just like the DV Archer style. Glad you are feeling good and hopefully you are getting some sleep, too!

  10. Melanie,

You worked hard in class. We at Bar Method were happy to guide you! It really does work. (You won't like us very much for the first month or so coming back to class. You forget how hard it is!)

    Cant wait to see you.

    Love the colored denim!

  11. You are my new motivation to keep going to fusion classes (very similar to bar method) for the rest of my pregnancy. Some days it really is difficult to get myself there. You look great - just in time for summer, no less! Nice work!

  12. Natalie, you can order the Bar DVD's. I don't have a studio near me and have been doing it for the last year via DVD's (I have 5 different ones) and I love, love, love it. I've lost 35 pounds, dropped 3 jeans sizes and have never felt better. Here's the link; http://www.barmethod.com/dvds/exercise-dvds.html Good Luck
Melanie - You look fantastic, cute jeans, I have them in white from Target. Good luck with your new little baby.

  16. Packing in the kind of technology isabel marant sneaker McQuivey mentions -- things like a touch screen, Webcam, microphones, and the Baskets Isabel Marant guts of an iOS device -- certainly would not come cheap. For a very non-scientific comparison, isabel marant boots Microsoft's second-generation Surface isabel marant online device, which is comprised of a 40-inch TV with a touch screen that's been optically-bonded to a piece of Corning's Gorilla Glass, retails for about. Yes, that's not remotely fair considering it's got some additional high-tech optical sensor technology, Isabel Marant shoes and has a built-in PC running Windows, but you get the point: costs can skyrocket the more you try to cram in there.
